Internet Explorer 8 crashes in "Tools" "Manage Add-Ons" with EMET 3.0

I know this question was already "answered" in another topic, but I need a little more information than "this is a known issue". 

EMET notifier pops up with DEP and mandatory ASLR mitigation errors for Internet Explorer 8 when Java 1.6.0.nn is installed and you attempt to go to "Manage Add-ons". 

Since this is a known issue, is it being addressed?  Is there a known work around other than "don't do that"?  Will this be fixed in the next release?
